Zac Efron & Jeremy Allen White Go Retro In The Iron Claw First Look

Around Christmas, “The Iron Claw,” a sports drama starring Jeremy Allen White and Zac Efron, will be released in theaters by A24.

On December 22, the movie will make its national debut together with “Migration,” an animated comedy from Universal and Illumination, which is a very different kind of family movie.

The glittering musical remake of “The Color Purple” is scheduled to release on December 25, while Jason Momoa’s superhero sequel “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” (Dec. 20) is anticipated to visit theatres a few days earlier.

The movie was financed and made by A24 and House Productions. Access Entertainment and BBC Film jointly fund it.

Tessa Ross, Juliette Howell, Angus Lamont, all of House Productions, Durkin, and A24, are the producers. Executive producers include Len Blavatnik and Danny Cohen from Access Entertainment, Derrin Schlesinger and Harrison Huffman from House Productions, and Eva Yates from BBC Film.

“The Iron Claw” is still in post-production and isn’t anticipated to screen at film festivals, despite its prime awards season release.

The tragic true story of the Von Erich family, a dynasty of professional wrestlers who created history in the fiercely competitive sport in the early 1980s, is shown in the film “The Iron Claw,” which was written and produced by Sean Durkin (“Martha Marcy May Marlene”).

The brothers had to fight inside the ring, but away from it they suffered a string of misfortunes that came to be known as the “Von Erich curse.”

Along with Harris Dickinson as David Von Erich, Holt McCallany as Fritz Von Erich, Maura Tierney as the family matriarch Doris, and Lily James as Kevin’s wife Pam, Efron plays Kevin Von Erich and White plays Kerry Von Erich in the movie.

Additionally, A24 unveiled a brand-new image from “The Iron Claw” (seen below), which captures a touching exchange between the beefed-up brothers. On the internet, people have been intrigued by their chiseled appearance.

Due to his ripped body, an image of Efron in the boxing ring earlier this year went viral. White, of “The Bear” renown, claims that he bulked up by 40 pounds for the part.
