LA-based retailer Reformstion announced November 12, that they will be extending their denim offerings to include sizes 14-24. On their website, brand explains, “We want all women -regardless of shape and size- to be able to wear our stuff. Making that happen is major goal of ours, today we are super happy to tell you that our popular jeans now come in in sizes 14–24.” The new sizes are offered on 6 of their already established styles including skinny, straight and boot cut jeans.
While Reformation is often celebrated for their sustainability, their foray into expand sizing has been slow. In March 2018, they released their first capsule collection with Ali Tate Cutler that comprise plus sizes. In time since, there has not been many inclusion above an XL.
But, Reformations new release is exciting because there aren’t as many plus-size brands committed to ethical manufacturing . anyone should have the opportunity to make an informed and ethical choice when they are shopping for clothing, and having more size options with sustainable brands is a step in right direction.
