On Sunday, Helen Skelton’s show featured an emotional departure announcement from BBC Radio 5 Live.
The Strictly Come Dancing star had been hosting the station’s Sunday morning show for just over a year, but she informed her fans over the weekend that she would be leaving to spend more time with her three children, Ernie, 8, Louis, 6, and Elsie, who will be born in 2021.
Lloyd Griffith Opens Up About Missing Helen in Touching Farewell Episode
Co-host Lloyd Griffith acknowledged that he would miss working with Helen during her final episode.
I’m not okay with it, but you know, things have to get done. It’s a genuine juggle. I’m needed by an eight-year-old with a sideline.

Helen made a suggestion that she might return in the future when she signed off at the end of the program.
She told listeners: “That’s it for me on Sundays for now. Thank you for your company over the last year, I’ve loved every minute of our time together on this show.
“Thank you to all of the team, thank you to all of you. Maybe we’ll meet again soon. It’s hard to know what to say without getting emotional.”

Since she and their children’s rugby player father Richie Myler divorced in April 2022, Helen has raised her three children alone.
Richie has since entered into another relationship and, in April of this year, the couple had a baby.
Strictly Smiles: Helen’s Glittering Pursuit of Joy and Fun
Last year, Helen decided to participate in Strictly in an effort to restore some “joy” and “fun” to her life.
“I did Strictly this year because sometimes you just need to jump on the opportunity and chance to put a big smile on your face,” she said in one of her VTs.
