At her show in Lower Manhattan, singer Bebe Rexha was injured by a cell phone thrown from the audience. She is now healing.
Bebe Rexha’s eye is black and blue after severe bruising and quite a shiner, but the singer reassured fans that she would be fine.
The pop singer requested the audience to put their phones away so they could enjoy the performance without interruptions during the final song of her concert at The Rooftop at Pier 17 on Sunday night.

As the vocalist fell to the ground, the audience gasped in shock.

“I thought it was a CD case, saw her drop down, security grabbed it, and it was a phone,” Ron Bosch remarked.
Bleta Rexha, the singer’s real name, was transported to the hospital for examination. According to one account that was published, she had three sutures.

Following his arrest, Nicolas Malvagna, 27, of Manalapan, New Jersey, was charged with assault.
Police are holding Malvagna, and they will likely be charged later today.
